Reggie Bush will stay at Saints.

Despite speculation that his base salary of $ 8 million by 2010 could force the New Orleans Saints Reggie Bush cut, team sources and two people close to four-year veteran said the former USC star will continue to defend the colors of the Super Bowl champions, possibly under his current contract.

“Be with us. Not going anywhere, “said the head coach of the Saints, Sean Payton, the New Orleans Times-Picayune during the scouting Combine in Indianapolis in the NFL.” Mickey [Loomis] and I talked the other day about it. We appreciate what the player brings, which has been in three of the last four years … actually four seasons here. So I think we spent more time in other areas discussing their status. So we will go forward, finished strong for us, so we follow. ”

But ESPN.com also reported that there was a possibility aion kinah that Bush may be asked contractual restructuring as it did last summer. Such a move, with a signing bonus replacing much of the base salary for ‘10 would reduce the impact on the salary cap but still allow Bush to collect any compensation scheduled for him during the campaign ahead.

In several meetings with his agent Joel Segal, however, executives from New Orleans have not considered the possibility of a restructuring. And 2010 may be an uncapped season, probably will not happen.

A source close to Bush said they “definitely” will return in 2010, and a director of the club later agreed with that view. A Saints source said there was “no scenario whatsoever” that Bush did not fit into the plans of New Orleans in 2010.

The Heisman Trophy winner of 2005 also was drafted second overall in the ‘06 draft and aion kinah buy subsequently signed a six-season contract worth a maximum of 52.2 million.

In four seasons with the club, Bush has fallen somewhat short of the lofty expectations for him but especially in 2009 has emerged as a key complementary / situational player in the Saints’ aion buy kinah potent offense. Often utilized as a third-down receiver, Bush has proven to be a difficult matchup for opposing linebackers and safeties, Particularly when I have the ball in the open field.

In 52 lifetime appearances, Bush, who is very popular in the community, has 35 starts. He has rushed 488 times for 1.940 yards and 17 touchdowns and has made 260 receptions for 1.934 yards with 11 touchdowns. In the season’s Super Bowl winning team in 2009, Bush totaled 725 yards from scrimmage and scored eight times, tying it best mark for touchdowns. The 117 taps Bush in 2009, its total carries and receptions were the lowest of his career.

The ground yardage Bush has declined in each of the past three seasons, but his yards per carry average has improved each year s race, as Payton has learned to use the elusive runner.
